Kerala Folklore Theatre Museum is a popular museum in Thevara in Ernakulam.Opened in the year 2009 as a non-profit organization, the museum is truly a treasure trove that showcases the rich heritage that Kerala exudes through its numerous art and dance forms. Artifacts that bear the scent of bygone era like masks, sculptures, in wood, stone and bronze, costumes of traditional and ritual art forms, musical instruments, traditional jewelry, manuscripts of rare medicinal and astrological secrets, and Stone-Age utensils are all preserved in this museum with utmost care

Chottanikkara Bhagavathy temple is the most important temple is located in Chottanikkara town, 17kms away from Ernakulam.The Goddess Rajarajeswari (ADIPARASAKTHI) alias Durga Bhagavathy - the mother Goddess, is the presiding deity of the temple. It is said that this deity was brought from Mookambika Temple in Kollur, Karnataka and therefore there is a presence of Mookambika (Saraswathy) Devi till 7am in the morning ,It is believed that the temple deity is worshipped in three forms of the Devi, as Saraswati in the morning, Lakshmi at noon and as Durga at the evening

In the island of Bolgatty lies Kochi’s famous Bolgatty Palace. It is one of the oldest existing Dutch palaces in the world. It was built by the Dutch traders in the year 1744 and later was extended and gardens were landscaped around it. This was at that time the Governor’s palace for the commander of the Dutch Malabar. In the year 1909 it was leased out to the British, hence serving as the home of the British Governors. It was also the seat of the British Resident of Cochin during the British Raj.

An ecological sensitive area, located at the centre of Kochi, Kerala, the Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary, is given the title of the ‘Green Lung of Kochi’. This sanctuary is connected to the Kochi backwaters through the shallow tidal lake. This sanctuary has a total area span of 2.74 hectares. Mangalavanam, being the nesting ground for many exotic migratory birds is a paradise for all bird watchers. One can view birds such as Common Redshank, Common Greenshank, Brahminy Kite, White breasted Waterhen and Marsh Sandpiper and many more.
